Supersized Update

Well, with the newspaper stuff and all the jive in the rearview mirror for now - can get back to more normal updates.

The other weekend (the one where it was 65, not 45), we spent the Saturday at the Naperville house, raking leaves and cleaning up the yard. Boy - I always wanted to live in a mature neighboorhood with trees - yikes! It took half the day to rake and bag the front 50x30 yard - 8 freaking 30 gallon bags of leaves and half of the small .25 acre yard was not even touched...the leaves were probably an inch thick. At least Connor loves raking...thats all he wanted (and wants) to do. Too bad in a few years he'll wise up. But I must say - we are more anxious now than ever to get our house sold and get the next one started - the in-city living just provides a great lifestyle and feeling of place...we spent the day in the yard - put the kids in the strollers, walked over to the Childrens's Museum, walked back up to the grocery store, stopped into Ace hardware for some yard bag stickers, and back home. We now know why we never purchased any of the homes in the farm - field subdivisions we shopped the past 3 years - your so often secluded and isolated.

Anyways, this Saturday was a trip to Splash Central in Bartlett - we have been meaning to go for months- but Connor was either getting ear tubes put in, had the flu or something was putting it off. Both of them loved it...as usual Connor is skeptical the first 10 minutes - but then once daddy gets him involved - he's good to go, and then, of course, never wants to leave. Connor also progressed to a big boy bed this weekend - as he can no get out of bad when he wants - no longer in a 4 walled crib - so far so good. Now, rather than fuss in his crib at 6 am, he comes over to the gate at the door and fusses there at 6am. He still holds the upper hand in this game...

Carter is growing and growing - 80% on height and 80% on weight at his 6 month checkup - just a a equally proportioned big kid...Connor better get his shots in now...as I forsee some payback in the near future. In reality though, it is fun to watch them play together and see how much they both like each other. Connor is always trying to get Carter's attention, trying to stand him up so he can play with him or attempting to pull him out of his high chair before he is done eating... and if he's sleeping on the couch - always tries to meander over and nudge him up. And

Carter thinks his big brother is the coolest boy on the planet - constantly staring, smiling and laughing at anything he does. Both got there first baths together in the same tub tonight - Connor thought that was the funnest thing in the world!
